My client is a well-established organisation that is a reputable and sought-after Tier 2 Commercial builder located in Melbourne. For 60+ years they have delivered a diverse range of projects with a strong emphasis on Commercial, Industrial, Retail and Residential projects to the value of $100M and pride themselves on maintaining client relationships by delivering an exceptional quality of service from start to finish.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Estimating Manager you will be involved across the estimating function including full take-offs, quotes for projects, sales costings and BOQ’s, but most importantly you will be a key leader for ensuring accurate estimates for commercial projects that could be valued up to $100M.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of BOQ’s and tenders
  • Reviewing and analysing subcontractor quotes and negotiating to obtain the best price
  • Prepare tender submissions ensuring all components are included
  • Mitigate risk by monitoring internal and external risk and developing action plans to resolve issues
  • Lead and mentor the intermediate/junior level estimators in the team

Qualifications / Skills

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Min 5 years Estimator experience. Commercial/Industrial projects starting from $10m+
  • Experience working for a Tier 2 / 3 Commercial builder in Australia
  • Bachelor of Construction preferred with QS background
  • Ambition and a drive to succeed
  • Experience with Buildsoft or Cost X would be preferred
